Born in upstate New York, Dan has lived  in North Carolina for over thirty years.

Dan is a prolific songwriter and musician with more than 300 original songs to his credit. He writes in many genres including rock, country, folk, blues, jazz, plus his own unique style.  A drummer at heart, many artists have influenced his songwriting including the Beatles, Hank Williams, John Prine, Billy Joel, Judas Priest, Shania Twain, J.S. Bach, Mike Cross, and Ravi Shankar.

For many years he’s been known as the “Marathon Man” for playing entire gigs without any breaks. He and his brother Michael formed "The Bad Habit Axe Company" back in the day and continue to play traditional and original music today. He has released three major CD’s of all original songs.
