In The Middle of the Kitchen

In the middle of the kitchen

Oh! She looks so fine

The way her lips pucker up

While she sips her white wine

I ain’t got a clue what she’s making tonight

All I know is this: she’s gonna make it all right.

In the middle of the kitchen

Oh! She looks so fine

The way her lips pucker up

While she sips her white wine

In the middle of the kitchen

She poured me a glass

She said, “Dinner’s all set.

But you got to eat fast.”

Then a limo came to take us out to play

With a gleam she said “I got some news today!”

In the middle of the kitchen

She poured me a glass

Hey boy, don’t slow down; you’d better eat fast.

In the middle of the kitchen

I was downing my drink

She wouldn’t say no more

And I started to think

She started acting sweet; she started to flirt

She said, “I’m not saying a word until we have dessert!”

In the middle of the kitchen

I was downing my drink

Now I just don’t know what to think

She made me wait she wouldn’t give me no clues

She made me wait ‘til desert before she’d tell me her news

I didn’t know what she’d tell me tonight

But I had a strong feeling that it’d be all right

Then over a latte with some extra cream

She said, “ Your boy child’s gonna make the girls holler and scream!”
